The focus of this conference is to facilitate the gathering of outstanding contributors to research and discovery in the field of Materials Science. The anticipated exchanges between participants will help advance the thrust of this field to solve pressing problems related to energy, the environment, and health issues.  

It is hoped the face-to-face encounters between participants will also lead to cooperations that will provide a step forward to solving these problems.
